Built from aluminium, it’s light-weight, and solid construction ensures that the offroad capability of the original vehicle is not impacted.
The full standing height inside your vehicle gives you the added privacy you often miss while camping and superiour comfort when the weather is not favourable.
Featuring strong gas-struts and two release latches accessible from the inside, the Pop-top Roof is lifted in seconds. The rigid platform supporting the overnight bed can be lowered independently of the Pop-top Roof, thus allowing full standing height.
The comfortable mattress measures 205cm by 120 cm. Your sleeping bags or doonas will remain in place while the roof is down, snuggly fitting into the space between the supporting platform and the roof.
Windows on both sides as well as at the back allow sufficient aeration. All windows are covered with mosquito nets, and can be closed from the inside using the Velcro® lining. The large windows allow for panoramic views from your bed.
Using high-tech canvas Airtex®, a light-weight, extremely durable and breathable material, and quality seals ensure the vehicle is fully weather tight.
The low profile and integrated, light-weight construction of the aluminium Pop-top Roof ensures that the aerodynamic properties of your vehicle are minimally impacted, thus ensuring that the change in fuel efficiency of your car is not noticeable. The conversion only adds 35mm to the overall height of the vehicle.
The Mulgo V2 Pop Top Roof for the Troopy has a plain aluminium frame (2-pack colour matched to your vehicle) and an aluminium chequer plate insert. With the standard tie down rails fitted, the roof can be used as a roof rack to transport additional gear. No additional racking system is needed (it can however be added for supporting surfboards etc.)
The Mulgo Pop Top has been certified by a NSW Motor Vehicle Engineer.
All our conversions include a NSW Engineering Certificate - other states on request.

Tiny House on Wheels
By: Marlee on 22 August 2021The Mulgo Pop Top has been a game changer for me for all the right reasons. It’s become my little tiny house on wheels for weeks at a time and for quick overnighters - in both cases, minimally preparation and set up is needed. After a lot of research, I crossed the country in 2019 from Perth to Sydney for a superior product and to have the work done by the masters in their industry. The stand outs for me with the Mulgo Pop Top are; The internal locking and hinges. The three large, screened windows. It only adds 35mm to height and has clean lines following the shape of Troopy. Unobstructed bed access and window views. Integrated anchor tracks on the roof, making a fully load bearing roof platform. Watertight but breathable Airtex canvas. 1250mm bed width. And most importantly, Certified Australian Made. As well as the pop top roof and upgraded Fanello bed option I had Daniel and the team supply and install water tanks/pumps, sink, flooring, cabinetry, tinted windows, winch, air compressor, camp chairs, solar panels, all electrics, 270º awning and organise the suspension upgrade. I don’t have the skills or tools so decided to save and leave it with the professionals. Daniel is a busy man so I didn’t receive frequent updates during the build but I put my trust in him and was not disappointed, I couldn’t fault their workmanship. Daniel has a friendly nature and is pleasant to deal with. Instead of dismissing my new ideas he was eager to help troubleshoot and provide solutions to making them happen. His after sales service and support is exceptional - I had heard this prior to choosing the Expedition Centre and have since experienced it first hand. The Mulgo Pop Top and internal fit outs are all fully customisable so the possibilities are endless - They really do make dreams come true! I can’t think of a more capable company providing the best overland solution for one of the most capable vehicles.

Fantastic - well worth it.
By: Mark Walters on 10 December 2020Thanks Daniel and team, did a troopy poptop conversion with a V2. The extra external height gained with poptop was not much, but the benefits are fantastic. Also great was the after-installation service. We needed to lift /modify the sleeping platform to allow more clearance for the rear seats in the 5-seater. Daniel sorted it all out. Great outcome, could not be happier. We have used it so far for about 10 day including 6 days straight... very happy. Only extra nice thing would be a 12v connection in the underside of the poptop roof at the rear for a fan or additional light. Thanks Daniel.

Expedition Centre Response
Hi Mark, Thanks for your feedback. Re that 12v connection, both reading lights have dual USB charging points. Nowadays a lot of lights and fans are USB powered, so you can plug them in on either side of the bed.
Mulgo troopy conversion
By: Matthew Piccini on 11 August 2020By far the best modification you can do to a troopcarrier. Taking the versatility and usability of them to the next level. Love mine
